ART MOVEMENT | 2022

This site-specific project is situated in SokoĊ‚owsko, a village where in 1855 the first sanatorium for tuberculosis patients was established. The treatment was based on climate and diet, enhanced by Vincent Priessnitz's hydrotherapy. The hike towards the spring of the stream, where the spa once operated, is both a personal confrontation of the body with nature and an emphasis on the artist's presence in relation to the cultural flourishing of this place, thanks to the In Situ Foundation. Central to the work is also the symbolism of water as the "source of life." Living in cities, we are distant from the sources of most of the processes around us, so the artist's journey in this context becomes a metaphorical attempt to reach one of them.

A video simultaneously plays fragments of the artist's hike towards the spring.
